Meeting at the Theater

Amir met his friend Lotte outside a small theater at seven o’clock. He had bought two tickets online and saved them on his phone. They planned to watch a comedy about two restaurant workers. Lotte brought snacks for the walk home. When they reached the entrance, the worker scanned the first ticket, but the machine made a low sound and showed a red message.

The Wrong Date

The worker looked closely at the screen. Amir’s tickets were for Sunday evening, not Saturday. Amir had chosen the wrong date when he paid. The Saturday show was already full, and there were no extra seats. Amir felt embarrassed because Lotte had traveled across town. He offered to pay for her bus trip home, but Lotte said they should first ask about their choices.

Help at the Ticket Desk

At the ticket desk, a staff member checked the order. The Sunday tickets were still valid, so Amir did not need to buy them again. She also showed them an earlier Sunday show with two better seats. They could change the time without an extra charge. Amir and Lotte chose the afternoon show because both were free, and the last bus would not be a problem.

A Different Saturday

The friends were already in the city center, so they made another plan. They walked to a public square where a small music group was playing. They sat on a bench, shared the snacks, and talked about the week. Amir added the Sunday show to both of their phone calendars. Lotte asked him to include the time, theater address, and a reminder before they left.

The Show at Last

On Sunday, Amir checked the tickets before leaving home. He met Lotte thirty minutes early, and the scanner showed a green message this time. Their new seats were near the center. The comedy made them laugh, especially during a scene with a falling tray. Afterward, Amir said one wrong date had created two enjoyable afternoons. Lotte agreed, but she still made him check the next booking twice.
