A Small Gift
Eva’s friend gives her a small green plant. It is in a yellow pot. Eva puts it on a shelf in her bedroom. She likes the plant, but the shelf is dark. After one week, two leaves look weak.
A Better Place
Eva moves the pot to the kitchen window. The window gets gentle morning light. She puts a small plate under the pot. Now water cannot fall on the table. Eva checks the soil with one finger before she adds water.
A New Routine
Every Sunday, Eva turns the pot a little. She cleans dust from the leaves with a soft cloth. She does not give the plant too much water. The yellow pot stays by the window, near her tea cup.
Two New Leaves
One morning, Eva sees two small leaves. They are light green and soft. She sends a photo to her friend. “Your gift is growing,” she writes. Eva smiles. The simple Sunday routine is now part of her week.
