At the Bus Stop
Mina wants to go to the town market. It is her first bus ride alone. She puts a small map in her bag. At the stop, she reads the blue sign. The number on the sign is twelve. Her bus is also number twelve.
On the Bus
The bus comes at nine o’clock. Mina lets an old man get on first. Then she shows her ticket to the driver. She sits near the door. The bus goes past a school, a park, and a red bridge. Mina follows the road on her map.
The Right Stop
After fifteen minutes, Mina sees the town clock. The market is near that clock. She presses the stop button. A bell makes a soft sound. The driver stops beside a flower shop. Mina thanks him and gets off the bus.
Home Again
Mina buys apples and bread at the market. She keeps her return ticket in her coat pocket. At noon, she takes bus twelve home. This time, she does not need the map. She smiles because the trip now feels easy.
