Before Sunrise
Nico starts a new job at a bakery. His first shift begins at six in the morning. The street is still dark when he arrives. Ana, the baker, turns on the lights. She gives Nico a clean apron and shows him the kitchen.
First Jobs
Nico puts paper bags beside the counter. Then he places bread on the wooden shelves. Small bread goes on the left. Large bread goes on the right. Ana checks his work. She says the shelves look neat and ready.
The First Customer
At seven, an older woman opens the door. Nico says good morning. She asks for two rolls and one long loaf. Nico finds the bread and puts it in a bag. He listens carefully when she speaks. The woman thanks him.
After the Rush
Many people come before eight. Nico stays busy, but he remembers where everything is. When the shop becomes quiet, Ana makes two cups of tea. Nico is tired and happy. Tomorrow, he will know the morning jobs better.
