Walk Around First
Take a quick walk before you buy. Look at the signs, prices, and kinds of food. Some sellers may have the same item. A first look helps you understand the market and choose where to stop.
Ask a Clear Question
You can ask, “How much is this?” or “Can I have three, please?” Point to the item if you do not know its name. Listen to the price and repeat it when you need to check.
Keep Payment Ready
Know which payment types the seller accepts. Keep money or your card safe but easy to reach. Wait until the seller finishes with the person before you. Check your change before you move away.
Pack Heavy Things Low
Put heavy items at the bottom of your bag. Keep soft fruit, bread, and eggs near the top. Use two bags if one becomes too heavy. Before you leave, check that your wallet and all purchases are with you.
