Check the Number
Find the bus number before you leave. Look at a map, timetable, or stop sign. Some streets have buses going in two directions. Read the place name on the front of the bus, not only the number.
Have Your Ticket Ready
Keep your ticket, card, or money where you can reach it. Let people get off before you get on. Show or tap your ticket when needed. Then move away from the door so other people can enter.
Follow the Stops
Listen for stop names and look at signs outside. You can count the stops on a small list. If you are unsure, ask the driver or another passenger early. Say the name of the place clearly.
Signal and Leave
Press the stop button before your stop. Gather your bag while the bus is still moving, but stand only when it is safe. Leave through the correct door. Check the seat once, so nothing stays behind.
